For the second time the Dutch National Team won the European Championship. All the orange spectators supported their team and have set a tremendous atmosphere in Sportshall PTS in Maasmechelen, Belgium. The final against Germany was a very exiting game with only one score 10 seconds before the intermission. After the intermission the Netherlands showed very experienced passing and screening play, which resulted in 7 scores. RESULTS >>

meThe Play Offs started with the match of the Czech Republic against Denmark. A very exiting game in which the Czech Republic was leading with 2-1 in the intermission. But in the second half Denmark came back with very good play and won with 4-2. Then it was the turn for Belgium against Switzerland, in which Belgium was too strong for the Swiss national team, which for the first time is participating in the Europeans. Italy showed their best play ever agains the Netherlands.

The second day of the first round of the European Championship of Electric Wheelchair Hockey gave very exiting matches. Like the first day the teams were competing in a fair way and the games showed very professional tactical and technical play on a high level. The last two matches of the day resulted which nations placed itself within the last four best National teams of Europ. Especially the match between Belgium and Italy was very close till the last minutes. But in the end Italy won the game by beautiful passing play.

The 2nd Open Electric Wheelchair Hockey European Championships will be held in Belgium, Maasmechelen from 8 - 16 November 2008. The 2nd open Electric Wheelchair Hockey European Championship (EC 2008) is organised by Sport & Handicap vzw and GSV Toekomst vzw, under the auspices of the Belgian Paralympic Committee. Eight nations have entered this event: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Finland, the Czech Republic and as new up coming nation Switzerland.

The 8th Sports Assembly of IWAS Electric Wheelchair Hockey (ICEWH) shall be held between Friday 14th and Tuesday 18th November 2008 in Maasmechelen in Belgium.  The Sport Assemblies are held every two years and determining the policy and technical rules and regulations for the sport of EWH. The 8th Sports Assembly is organised by Sport & Handicap vzw and GSV Toekomst vzw, under the auspices of the Belgian Paralympic Committee.

Dear Sportfriends, on behalf of the ICEWH, BPC, VLG and the EC EWH 2008 organizing committee we would like to invite you to Blankenberge (Belgium) on Saturday 17 May 2008 for the official drawing of the EC EWH 2008,which will be held in November 2008 in Maasmechelen,Belgium. Eight countries finally enter this second European Championship: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands. They will be divided into two groups for the elimination round. The official drawing will take place during the E-hockey tournament on the occasion of the Electrabel Belgian Paralympic Championships in Sporthal, De Sportdooze, Groenestraat 117 in Blankenberge around 12 h. during the lunchbreak.
