The IWAS has officially awarded the 2nd World Championship of Electric Wheelchair Hockey (WC 2010) to Italy. This major EWH event will be held from Monday 1 – Monday 8 November 2010 in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Lignano Sabbiadoro is a wonderful sports holiday resort, situated between Venice and Triest in the north of Italy along the Adriatic See. (see: http://www.getur.com/Villaggio_Turistico_Mare.aspx)

The Organising Committee is the Italian Federation of Electric Wheelchair Hockey (FIWH). FIWH is organising the WC2010 under the auspices of the Italian Paralympic Committee. Invitationsto participate in the WC 2010 are extended to the eight allocated nations, according the WC 2010 qualification system, which was agreed upon during the Sport Assembly of 2008.
The eight allocated nations are:
- Italy (Host Country)
- The Netherlands (latest World Champion 2004 and European Champion 2008)
- Germany (European Region)
- Australia (Oceania Region)
- Canada (Wild Card)
- Finland
- Belgium
- Denmark

Those nations need to confirm their qualification slot by 1 January 2010. If an allocated nation doesn’t make use of its slot by this date, ICEWH shall allocate the next nation of the ICEWH World Ranking List for participation!
The Final Day of the WC2010 is scheduled on Sunday 7 November 2010. The competition venue is a very nice, huge sports arena with 4000 spectator seats. ICEWH appreciates if you all invite your families and friends to fill as much chairs as possible to cheer on the national teams, so that the 2nd World Championship of Electric Wheelchair Hockey will become a terrific event.
